On Wednesday, November 30, 2016, King Sunny Ade officially became the first Nigerian to join the illustrious list of entertainers to join the Hard Rock Cafe Lagos Music Memorabilia Collection at an induction ceremony in Lagos.

The  Hard Rock showcase has honoured several entertainers including, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Elton John and more.

To commemorate the induction event which held at Hard Rock Cafe, Oniru, the alcohol brand Chivas not only created a signature drink called the  “Ondo Regale” which they served at the function, but they also presented the Juju Legend with an original 25 year old Chivas Regal Blended Whisky.

King Sunny Ade donated several items from his personal collection including a vintage Fender Guitar, shoes and album cover, he also said a few words.

“I’m thrilled to be the first Nigerian musician to donate personal items to Hard Rock’s world-famous collection and to be showcased alongside other legendary artists,” said King Sunny Ade. “For me, this is more than just a ceremony; it’s an opportunity to pass on a cultural legacy and inspire new generations of musicians around the globe.”
